Paths

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths – Proverbs 3:5-6

Kristi and I took Joshua and Emma to the mall just to get them out of the house during December of 2008 just before Christmas. It was rainy and everyone was getting a little stir-crazy. Kristi was getting us a sub at Subway, EAT FRESH, and I got Emma out of the stroller to stretch her legs. She immediately began to move her 1 year old legs toward the busy part of the mall where I didn’t want her to go.

I ran out in front of her and cut her off and she just went around me like I wasn’t even there. This continued for what seemed like an hour and she seemed to finally get the message and gave up. She began to walk back toward Subway so I am pleased that I have won.

Then she began the maneuver. You know the maneuver – pretend to be looking around and then in a split there she goes. Right back to where I didn’t want her to go in the first place – again.
Isn’t that they way that we do with God. He spends a lot of time trying to convince us not to go in a certain direction. Yet we keep heading down the wrong road and even pretend to go the “Right” way only to keep coming back to the same path – the wrong one.

God desires for us to follow His way and not the paths that the world offers us. He desires to protect us from dangers that we cannot see. If we will just TRUST Him even when we don’t understand the outcome or the reason we will receive a whole lot less knocks in life, be happier and live a more fulfilled and healthy life – EAT FRESH
